Together, We Rewrite Their Stories

Asha was just 18
When hardship forced her to leave home, Asha had no one to turn to. With no support, she soon became a young mother to baby Claire and found herself in an abusive household. When Claire was 8 months old, Asha’s partner abandoned her with only $5 AUD and told her never to return. Desperate, Asha made the heartbreaking choice to leave Claire in town, hoping someone could give her a better life.
The very next day, filled with regret, Asha turned herself in to the police station. She regretted her decision and was desperate to find her baby. This was a big risk as child abandonment carries a three-year prison sentence. Instead of being sent to prison, One Tribe Mama’s Project gave her a second chance. After six months of therapy, bonding sessions, and meaningful work, Asha was reunited with Claire. Today, she is not only raising her daughter but also leading and inspiring other young mothers in our program.
Life has been cruel to Caroline
Caroline’s childhood was marked by abandonment, abuse, and despair. By the time she was 13, she was forced into hard labour, starved, and mistreated. Running away to find safety, she instead fell into another cycle of violence that left her pregnant and hopeless.
Thanks to the One Tribe Mama project—and the generosity of supporters like you—Caroline’s story didn’t end there. Surrounded by love, therapy, and practical training, she began to heal. She welcomed her daughter Bianca into a safe and nurturing community where both could finally thrive.
Today, Caroline works proudly as a hospital medical administrator, and Bianca is thriving in school. Your support makes transformations like theirs possible—turning broken lives into stories of hope, dignity, and new beginnings.
